The Chartered Institute responsible for building trust and delivering excellence in public financial management are recruiting for a new role in the form of a Head of Qualifications and Membership to lead a renewed focus on growing their professional qualifications and improve support to professional accountants throughout their career.

As someone who is a qualified accountant, you will own and lead a team which focusses on the development of qualifications, as well as have oversight for their currency, relevance, quality and integrity. You will also be responsible for the management, monitoring and support of members and their continuing professional development compliance- therefore giving this role the full remit of the end to end student to member journey.

As someone who thrives with challenges, is a clear thinker and can interpret ambiguous situations in order to make sound judgements, you will ensure the regulatory compliance in relation to the professional practice of qualified chartered accountants, and manage relationships with key oversight bodies such as the IoA, Ofsted, Office of Students and the FRC.

You will have a sound understanding of the architecture of qualification and assessment design, as well as vocational training and professional qualifications within high stakes environments in order to lead and oversee the development and commissioning of professional accountancy qualifications and their assessment as well as an integrated and engaging programme of CPD.

The organisation is an approved EPA provider and has a hugely successful apprenticeship programme which the new Head of Qualifications and Membership will also be involved with.

The role will also be expected to develop a network of external accredited training providers, growing and structuring their team accordingly to support this. It is therefore essential that you have a customer focused approach where customer expectations are high as well as the ability to influence, negotiate and communicate with a wide range of audience.

As someone who had demonstrable experience of developing dynamic teams, you will be a tasked on identifying team responsibilities and redefining structures to ensure optimal working efficiencies, whilst also being able to challenge the organisation on how things are done and implement rigorous governance processes to improve and maintain excellent standards.

You will also manage provider partners around teaching, assessment and remote invigilation as the organisation moves to a more digitally enabled, self directed style of delivery.
