TPP Recruitment are supporting a leading London-based professional body with a search for a Head of News and Campaigns. This role, effectively the Head of Communications for the organisation, reports into the CEO and manages a team of 6 (with 3 direct reports) and holds responsibility for Communications, Policy and Public Affairs, and Events and Sponsorship.

Whilst the role does cover a broad remit, there is a particular emphasis on news and campaigns - the organisation is looking for the successful candidate to develop, implement and lead an integrated, innovative news, campaigns and communications strategy to raise profile, and to position the organisation as the leading information source within their specialism.

Specifically you will:

- Take an active and influential role in the Senior Management Team and Executive Committee to make sure the organisation meets its vision, mission and strategic objectives
- Lead your team to deliver excellent, creative output across all platforms, targeted at key influential audiences including the organisation's broad membership
- Drive a proactive news approach, spotting opportunities, pitching journalists unique story ideas and stimulating media commentary and debate.
- Optimise the website to ensure existing and potential members feel inspired and supported

In order to be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and the ability to motivate and manage a high performing team. You will have a track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of influential outlets, excellent writing and broadcasting skills, and ideally solid operational experience in a senior journalistic capacity You will also have a strong digital mind-set, with experience of utilising a range of platforms creatively to inform general audiences about complex issues.
