About the charity

Hospice UK are the national charity for hospice care, fighting so that everyone can receive the best end of life care, regardless of who they are and their circumstances. Hospice UK champion hospice care on a national level, as well as promoting education, aiding fundraising, working internationally and provide service grants.

About the role

The Head of Major Giving (Trusts and Major Donors) will be a key part of the continued success and future growth of the fundraising team. Leading on one of their most successful income streams, trusts, you will personally write applications and build relationships whilst managing a Programme Research Executive who will carry out prospect research and smaller mailings/applications. You will also start to develop a major donor arm to their fundraising, with the support and time of the Director of Fundraising and the CEO behind you. You will be integral to the development of the fundraising team, becoming part of the Fundraising SMT, working closely with your Director to develop strategy and promote a cohesive working environment across all income streams.

About you

You will have significant trusts experience, with a track record of building relationships with major funders and securing 6-figure gifts. You will have knowledge and ideally experience of major donor fundraising. You will have experience of all elements of trusts fundraising, including leading meetings and reporting. You will be an experienced line manager and able to work at SMT level.
