TPP Recruitment are working with a leading homelessness charity who are currently looking for a Head of Learning Services to lead their dedicated Learning Team in London.
As the Head of Learning Services, you'll lead the team in the development, implementation and delivery of high quality learning opportunities for vulnerable adults who are homeless or vulnerably housed.
Using evidence from internal and external evaluations to inform the development of the learning offer, you'll ensure the adult learners receive high quality, positive teaching and learning experiences that empower them by building confidence and self-esteem skills, while ensuring that learning is delivered to the highest quality standards to progress their journey out of homelessness for good.
Your aims in this role will include promoting member engagement and maximising inclusion, supporting wellbeing and resilience skills, ensuring learning is person centred, motivating and providing routes into other learning and skills opportunities.
You will also be actively involved in developing partnerships with external delivery groups to help provide a bespoke learning programme combining a structured approach with intensive case management on a year round basis.
As the Head of Learning Services, you'll play a key role in leading the development and delivery of effective teaching and learning practices and will be a constructive and contributing member of the management team. You'll manage the budget and resources for the learning team and will manage, lead, inspire and motivate your team to work collaboratively and effectively.
To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate considerable experience and skills in the following:
Teaching experience (qualified) in the FE/Adult learning environment who has led and managed the delivery of high quality learning programmes
Experience of working within the relevant sector such as homelessness, offenders, mental health or excluded pupils
Experience of managing staff performance as well as leading, developing and supporting individuals and teams
Ability to self manage and successfully support and manage others in times of change
An understanding of psychologically informed approaches and the support and guidance staff require when working with people who have experienced complex trauma and marginalised individuals; a solution focused approach to safely including members who may have been excluded from other services.
Sound knowledge of best practice and quality standards expected for successful delivery of learning to recognised standards. Able to oversee the implementation of quality standards and ensure the learning services meet the required standards of governance and comply with any regulation and best practice standards of associated bodies and funders.
Strong networking and partnership development skills, with a track record of developing pathways to improve access to learning for members.
As the Head of Learning Services, you'll be required to work somewhat flexibly, including occasional travel to other locations for meetings, some evening/weekend/bank holiday work.
