About the charity

Hospice UK are the national charity for hospice care, fighting so that everyone can receive the best end of life care, regardless of who they are and their circumstances. Hospice UK champion hospice care on a national level, as well as promoting education, aiding fundraising, working internationally and provide service grants.

About the role

A major part of Hospice UK's new fundraising strategy is 'Individuals Doing More' - hence the creation of this brand new role to the organisation. The Head of Individuals will develop and implement a coordinated approach to individuals who fundraise, particularly DM and events. You will develop the team's direct marketing programme, including a mid-value programme, legacy, in-mem and payroll giving as well as regular givers, ensuring a coordinated approach to include events participants. You will also work at Fundraising SMT level, working closely with the Director of Fundraising to tweak strategy, advise on growth plans and develop the team into a cohesive department. You will line manage an Individual Giving Fundraiser and a Challenge Events Manager.

About you

We are looking for candidates with knowledge and experience of all elements of direct marketing fundraising, although ready to take on an over-arching role in strategy and management. You will be able to apply your knowledge to help others see how individual fundraising opportunities can be developed across the whole department. You will have highly developed planning and financial modelling experience, and knowledge of fundraising regulatory changes in the sector, as well as Gift Aid, data protection and cofes of practice. You will have proven experience of managing a team to deliver high quality results.
