Head of Examinations (Professional Education)

A leading medical membership organisation in central London who train, support and develop healthcare professionals in the UK, are recruiting for a Head of Examinations on a full time, permanent basis.

As the Head of Examinations, you will hold a key role in a large examinations team, reporting into the Executive Director of Professional Development and managing an examinations budget of around 5Million per annum.

You will be responsible for the overall strategic management, organisation and delivery of two key examinations for up to 4000 qualified doctors annually. You will be responsible for monitoring effectiveness and will hold overall operational management of the Examinations, including being responsible for budgets, processes and projects associated with these examinations.

The Head of Examinations will identify and monitor the principal significant risks associated with the delivery of the two key examinations and will ensure they can be mitigated to an acceptable level.

As the Head of Examinations, you will manage and motivate the Examinations Team, working closely with the Chief Examiner and Clinical Leads to give strategic advice and build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the best high quality service.

To be considered for this role, you will need a strong track record of extensive management experience in an examinations role within higher or professional education or a regulatory setting as well as extensive experience managing day to day operations.

You will also need to be an exceptional communicator with people at all levels and will be able to show your experience of effective people management and development.

You'll hold an advantage if you have knowledge of UK Postgraduate Medical Education or medical training processes and experience managing teams through change.
