An exciting new role has come at a leading educational STEM organisation to lead a small team to influence the way children and young people perceive and engage with science in order to build a lifelong cultural engagement with the subject.
As the Head of Education you will take responsibility for all work with the formal education sector, developing strategy and building support for it among staff, partners, funders, stakeholders and the wider sector as well as lead on the purposes of science education and some of the challenges of its current approach, raising the profile and impact of the organisation?s work in education.
As someone with extensive project and programme management experience you will oversee the project delivery with a team of 5 and a budget of around £1million including the flagship awards scheme and British Science Week programme.
You will have line managed high performing teams and have a deep understanding of the STEM education sector especially in regards to up to date knowledge of the current schools' context and informal players in the STEM education sector in order to be aware of the best practises in STEM education.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation as they are due to announce a major new partnership as well as a brand new digital platform and are continuing a strategic review to keep advancing their work with audiences especially those who are currently underserved and unengaged to keep growing their reach and impact whilst also ensuring they achieve funders targets.
