The TPP Fundraising and Development team are working with a leading international charity and are supporting the search for a Head of Business Development. This is a newly created role, so you will be joining during an exciting period of change. You will report to the CEO, and have lead responsibility for all business development activities. You will motivate and lead a small team which has overall responsibility for ensuring that high quality competitive proposals are submitted in response to solicited and unsolicited opportunities from public and private donors.
In this autonomous role, you will be responsible for developing an organisational fundraising strategy, and lead it's implementation. You will ensure the team has an annual work plan that is costed, and ensure that activities are carried out on time. In order to succeed in this post, it will be essential that you liaise closely with country based teams, regional hubs and with teams in the London HQ office. It will also be crucial for you to communicate frequently with external stakeholders such as donors and partners. You will personally lead on bid management for bids designated as high risk, participate in bid design documentation for these bids and also lead on the writing of key components.
To be considered for this post, you will need to demonstrate a strong knowledge of, and experience generating income from, statutory and institutional donors such as DFID and USAID. You will be familiar with the development and implementation of fundraising strategies, and have extensive experience of business development. You will be a strong communicator with previous experience of managing a team, and have a natural ability to build strong working relationships. Please note that you will be required to travel extensively in post (up to 40% of working time)
