TPP are delighted to be working with a major National charity to recruit a Governance officer. This is a brand new role. They are looking for a Governance Officer to help implement processes and systems that support a culture of good governance across the organisation.

Are you an excellent communicator who want to make a difference? Do you want to help create a great company culture?

In this role you will support and coordinate the implementation of the governance strategy, championing best practice through the development of new governance processes and policies. For example, developing our organisational compliance register and refining our policy development process.

With significant experienced in supporting a charity or not-for-profit at the board level you will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well under pressure.

The purpose of this Job:
To support the Company Secretary in ensuring that the charity (including its subsidiaries) has a coordinated approach to governance and compliance.

Some of the key responsibilities:
Support and coordination of the implementation of the governance strategy, including:
* Implementation of new risk management processes
* Support in drafting new governance processes and policies
* Liaison with relevant departments and stakeholders to ensure staff understanding
of new processes and policies
* Tracking and follow up of actions arising from inter-departmental meetings
* Recommending improvements to governance processes where necessary

Supporting the preparations for Council meetings, including paper deadlines, compiling and formatting papers, tracking action completion and maintenance of minute books.
Ensure continuous improvement process through recommending and implementing changes to streamline processes where appropriate.

Development of the organisational compliance register which tracks governance meetings, filing deadlines and compliance requirements.

Support in refining policy development process and maintenance of the policy register.
