We are working with membership body to recruit their Governance Officer; As a member of the business team you will assist the President, General and Executive Secretary in all governance matters for the organisation.


Main duties for the Governance Officer:
-Assist the Executive Secretary to support Council and General Purposes Committee.

-Provide secretariat support to Council and the Finance and General Purposes Committee and assist the President.

-Make all necessary arrangements for committees, draft agenda and papers.

-Provide secretariat support for the AGM.

-Provide general assistance to the Executive Secretary on matters pertaining to the governance of the Society.

Essential criteria for the Governance Officer:

-Relevant proven experience in supporting senior committees (preferably in an academic or nonprofit environment.)

-Proven experience in drafting committee papers to a high standard.

-Knowledge and understanding of supporting senior committee chairs including leading figures such as President or Chairman of an organisation.

-Team player.

-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


This is a permanent role paying between £28,000-£35,000. As an organisation they provide a supporting working environment and have a great benefits package including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, flexi-time, pension and more.
