UK Emergency Support Services (UKESS), is a registered ‘Not For Profit’ organisation with wholly charitable purposes. UKESS is headed up by our Managing Director, Mark Hills and was launched in June 2018 with its principle aim to provide reliable and effective practical aid and support to Front Line Emergency Services, Local Authorities and Communities in the event of National Crisis, Public Emergency and Major Incidents.

Raising funds from the public can be very rewarding and enjoyable. Fundraising volunteers play a vital role in helping to ensure UKESS can continue achieving their aims and objectives; income generation is fundamental to our continued success. As a volunteer fundraiser, we will support you to organise your own events, support others and encourage other volunteers to fundraise for the organisation. The role is flexible to suit your commitments and interests.

Duties and Responsibilities

A UKESS Fundraising Volunteer will:

  • Organise and lead the planning and management of fundraising events
  • Attend and support events organised by UKESS
  • Develop new fundraising and event ideas
  • Work with the fundraising team to prospect major donors
  • Identify potential business and community partners
  • Encourage others to fundraise or volunteer for us
  • Assist with general fundraising activities as needed
  • To source organisations and contacts to provide auction and raffle prizes

Successful Applicants

If you are successful in your application, you;

  • must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer with us
  • may be required to submit an application for an Enhanced DBS check
  • will be required to provide two references
  • will be required to sign a volunteer, confidentiality and data protection agreement
  • will be provided with a full induction and ongoing supervision and support meetings

Next Steps

Our volunteer recruitment process is as follows:

2) You will be contacted by a member of the team to conduct an initial screening

3) You will be invited to an informal face to face interview, which can be mutually agreed to be undertaken via video calling or in person

4) You will be informed of our decision and then invited to attend an induction day, which must be completed before you can be formally appointed as a volunteer for UKESS. As part of your induction day you will be required to provide evidence of your Enhanced DBS check (if this is required by the role), identification and address verification.

5) You will be invited to attend a training day/exercise (if this is required by the role)
