The African Bird Club (ABC) is a UK-registered charity (No 1184309) dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats across Africa. ABC are looking for a Fundraising Officer to join our board of trustees, which we call 'Council'.
You must have:
- A wide knowledge of different fundraising sources and methods
- Demonstrable experience of fundraising in the charity sector
- Excellent networking, influencing and communication skills
- A strong personal commitment to ABC's mission
You must also be eligible to become a charity trustee, and able and willing to commit the necessary time (see below) to the role. But previous experience as a charity trustee, whilst desirable, is not essential.
In addition to carrying out your duties as a charity trustee, you will - take the lead on developing ABC's fundraising strategy, overseeing fundraising for ABC and ensuring that this is carried out properly; work with Council to identify suitable fundraising opportunities; develop and manage relationships with individual donors to ABC; and pitch to potential donors.
Minimum time commitment: Council meets three times a year on a Saturday. Trustees are also expected to give sufficient time, thought and energy to their role on Council, to contribute to email discussions about ABC's activities and make decisions between meetings and to attend ABC's Annual General Meeting and Members' Day.
Remuneration: This is a voluntary, unpaid role but reasonable expenses may be claimed.
If you are interested in this role, please email your CV with a short covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org
