Financial strategist: Treasurer for
charity-business support organisation

You are a financial strategist. You understand the need for properly projected and planned growth. You're also interested in business development for non-profit organisations and in improving the charity & voluntary sector. Obviously, then, you're our next Treasurer.

inVOLve Community Services are a business-coaching and development organisation for voluntary, community and faith groups in the Thames Valley. Our work includes organising and delivering training, offering funding advice, starting-up organisations, recruiting trustees & volunteers and providing business development and support.

In 2017/18, our spending was £412,003, similar to the previous year.

Where do we do it?

Our core focus is on Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough; however, we increasingly offer support to groups from across Berkshire and the wider Thames Valley. We act as a strategic partner with statutory agencies and liaise with any commercial organisation that supports the aims of voluntary, community & faith groups.

Why are we looking for a new Treasurer?

Our voluntary Treasurer is standing-down from the Board and we need new strategic contribution to the Board to assist our vision for growth. We employ a very able and experienced Finance Manager who undertakes the day-to-day financial operations; the Treasurer will be focused on our financial strategy.

We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles. We are looking for someone to bring their expertise and experience from a variety of backgrounds, including the business world, to our charity.

We are looking for a commitment of at least two terms of three years.
About the existing Board

There are currently eight other volunteer Trustees. Following strategic review in 2018, we are in a period of growth and diversification of our charitable business. The Board of inVOLve is making sure the organisation is equipped to provide and thrive for all charities and groups that we grow and support into the future.
