A large disability charity based in south-east London is seeking a Financial Accountant for a brand new role as part of their finance team transformation.
This represents a chance to join a well-established charity at an exciting time of growth. They are looking for a flexible and proactive person to grow into the role as the organisation changes.
Duties:
-Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts ensuring unreconciled items are identified and resolved in a timely manner
-Maintain the fixed assets register
-Management of subsidiary companies
-VAT processing and returns
-Other tax calculations and returns as required
-Maintain the delegated authorities register and communicate/update changes as required
-Maintain a grants register and liaise with fundraising and business partners to ensure it is complete and financial returns are provided in a timely manner
-Support the Finance Manager with the financial year end and audit
-Carry out tasks in accordance with the delegated authority levels
-General reporting and ad-hoc analysis to support the business partners and wider finance team
-Support the payments and income teams as required
Requirements:
-Part qualified accountant working towards full qualification
-Charity SORP experience essential
-Balance sheet reconciliations experience
-Experience of producing management reports
-SUN experience desirable but not essential
-Detailed and practical understanding and experience of reconciliations
-Advanced excel skills
-Experienced user of ICT systems for data manipulation, reporting and accounting
-A flexible and proactive approach to work
