A central London based NGO focused on anti-corruption campaigns across global economic and environmental issues are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant for a brand new role. The role is a growth hire as the organisation is expanding and increasing its reach.


The role will involve:


-Support the Director of Finance in the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with current accounting regulations (SORP) and legal requirements to agreed timelines

-Assist in the planning and management of the annual audit process

-Support the Director of Finance to ensure all statutory reporting and compliance obligations worldwide are made on a timely basis (including in the UK: HMRC, Companies House, Charity Commission; in the US: federal and local tax returns, IRS 990 return, etc.)

-Accountable for ensuring that direct reports have the skills and capabilities and are engaged and motivated

-Responsibility for financial accounting processes, including transactional processing, financial reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close processes

-Ensure balance sheet accounts and bank accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis with any adjustments made in a timely manner

-Produce rolling 12 month cash flow forecasts and review against actual performance on a monthly basis

-Monitor foreign currency cash balances, recommending transactions to be initiated between accounts in line with the Treasury Policy

-Review the summary output report provided by the payroll bureau for accuracy and highlight any corrections required to HR

-Administer pension scheme payments and ensure payments and liabilities are accurately captured in the accounts



Candidate requirements:


-Qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) with supervisory experience in a similar role

-Experience of charity/third sector accounting under SORP

-Previous work in a similar organisation (ideally an NGO)

-Experience of SUN & Vision desirable
