Finance Officer - Community charity - £28,900 per annum

A leading community charity focused on youth development across London is seeking an experienced Finance Officer for a new role in their central London headquarters. The role is permanent and represents an opportunity to join a stable finance team in an organisation devoted to improving the lives of young Londoners.

The role will involve:

-To raise and distribute all London Office invoices and credit notes as required using Dynamics sales order processing

-To process, enter and reconcile donations records

-To maintain an accurate up to date sales ledger, producing monthly aged debtor listings for management information

-Credit control

-Administration of expense and Gift Aid claims

-To undertake Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Bank reconciliations

-To enter all purchase invoices and credit notes onto Dynamics purchase ledger, ensuring all are correctly coded, and then obtain appropriate sign off

-To maintain an accurate up to date purchase ledger, producing monthly aged creditors listings for management information

-To pay local invoices in a timely manner

-To maintain the Fixed Assets register and application of depreciation journals

-Petty cash and expenses

-Assisting Head of Finance with year-end accounts, and audit

Candidate requirements:

-Previous charity finance experience

-Practical bookkeeping experience to Trial Balance level

-Experience of preparing written reports for Management Accounts

-Experience with Microsoft GP Dynamics or a similar accounting system

-Strong Excel skills

-Fully AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA

-Educated to at least A level standard

-Advanced practical experience of bank and balance sheet reconciliations

-Practical experience in accounting for or assisting with the management of project grants/restricted funding from a range of donors (desirable)
