A world-leading, iconic Arts charity based in central London is seeking a talented Finance Officer for a permanent role. The role will involve playing a key role in the finance department for the main charity entity, and applicants should relish working in a busy, fast-paced and complex environment.
The role will involve:
-To be responsible for all financial accounting of the charitable company
-Maintain the cash book for the charity, ensuring that all receipts and payments are properly entered and allocated onto the accounting system
-Complete monthly bank reconciliations in a timely manner, over multiple currencies and submit for review
-Prepare aged debtors reports monthly and liaise with appropriate personnel to ensure that debts are recovered, updating the Financial Controller for cash flow purposes
-Review the weekly payment run
-Prepare monthly Finance Reports for multiple departments, ensuring that these match the trial balance to assist with the preparation of the Management Accounts
-Liaise with the departmental budget holders over their Finance Reports, ensuring accuracy and userfriendliness, and updating and annotating forecasts for use by the Financial Controller
-Prepare and submit for review the VAT Returns
-Ensure returns from the concert venue are received, coded, processed and reviewed
-Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, maintain the Fixed Asset Register and submit for review.
-Other ad-hoc finance duties including PAYE reports, purchase ledger and quarterly VAT calculations
Candidate requirements:
-Proven relevant and solid experience in a similar role covering financial accounting
-Very good work ethic; self-motivated; organised; and able to meet deadlines and manage a busy workload
-Working towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA etc)
-Advanced Excel skills
-Strong communication skills
-A proactive personality – knowing when to push back to budget holders when needed
-Sage 200 experience desirable but not essential
-A passion for the Arts sector would be a strong advantage for this role
