A leading NGO focused on empowering women entrepreneurs in developing countries is seeking a Finance Manager to work in their London office. This role represents a chance to be a key cog in the Finance department in a highly innovative and well regarded charity. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be instrumental in the delivery of all areas of the accounting function.
Duties will cover:
-Maintaining accurate accounting records using QuickBooks
-Assisting with month end and management accounts
-Assisting with preparation of year-end accounts and audit
-Processing staff and volunteers expenses claims
-Assisting with financial reporting with donors
-Assisting with the preparation of Budgets and Forecasts
-Processing sales/purchase ledger and banking duties
-Maintaining the Fixed Assets register
-Maintaining the Gifts-in-Kind register
-Previous experience in a similar charitable organisation
-An understanding of donor funding and reporting (institutional and corporate donors)
-Prior experience with management accounts and year-end accounting
-Experience preparing budgets and forecasts
-A “hands-on” book-keeping background covering purchase and sales ledger and banking
-Finance qualifications preferred, though not essential
No-line management is involved in this role, however you will be expected to interact with project and programme managers on a daily basis, so strong communication skills and a passion for the sector are a must.
