A leading South London based Housing Association located in 4 boroughs is seeking an experienced and driven Finance Manager for a new role. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day management of the finance department. The role will also involve working closely with the Finance Director to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and will involve training and managing the finance team.
The role will involve:
-Responsibility for day to day control of all accounting systems, including payroll, ensuring complete and accurate processing of data and adherence to internal controls and procedures.
-Ensure accuracy of accounting records by monitoring monthly reconciliations.
-Produce monthly management accounts and key performance indicators within agreed time limits.
-Produce monthly reports for budget holders and jointly investigate variances against budget.
-Manage the provision of accurate and timely financial information to Board members, Corporate Management Team (CMT) and managers, and to external stakeholders.
-Co-ordinate the preparation of the annual budget in a timely fashion. Produce and update seven year plans and related cash flow forecasts as required.
-Prepare annual statutory accounts within agreed timescales, in accordance with current legislation and in the required statutory format. Manage the external audit process to ensure a clean audit report.
-Directly manage the members of the Finance Team.
-Develop performance targets and quality control measures for the work of the team, and monitor team members’ work to ensure that these are met.
-Lead, direct, support and develop the finance team to deliver excellent services in line with senior management requirements.
-Support Leadership Team with accurate management reports, including cash flow forecasts, to enable accurate assessment of current and future performance.
-Proven experience as a financial manager, preferably in the voluntary or housing sector
-Hold a recognised accountancy qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc
-Experience of preparation of management and statutory accounts, budgets and cash flow projections
-Experience of managing and motivating staff
-Current knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements in the charity and housing sectors (including SORP)
-Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
