About the role
This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant, passionate and growing organisation where you will be both empowered and supported. Reporting to the Finance and Resources Director, this role is ISUOG's main accounting officer, enabling us to fulfil our financial reporting, compliance and tax obligations and to provide management information and control to ensure that ISUOG's resources can be best deployed to achieving our aims.
This is a broad and varied role involving transaction processing, budgeting, the creation of monthly management accounts, accounting for payroll, completing VAT returns, preparing files for the financial statements and supporting the annual audit. The role involves interaction across our staff team, including with our CEO.
The successful candidate will ideally have a recognised accountancy qualification and at least three years' experience in a relevant role with experience across the range of accounting functions described above. You'll be very familiar with financial accounting in a smaller organisation (ideally a charitable company or membership organisation) and have a mature understanding of financial control across an organisation's activities. The successful candidate will need a good understanding of VAT. A working knowledge of partial exemption will be helpful.
Our international reach means that we're looking for someone who enjoys getting to know the equivalent VAT regimes of different countries (we get outside professional help for this too) and isn't fazed by accounting for transactions in other currencies.
You'll need to have strong Excel skills and be well-organised to meet deadlines. Experience of Quickbooks accounting software will be an advantage. We hope to recruit someone who enjoys learning and values their own professional development.
Closing date for applications: 1st November 2017
Interviews will be held on: 6th November at ISUOG's offices in London W10 (TBC)
ISUOG creates equality of opportunity for all and values diversity.
