A niche membership charity based in south London (zone 2) is seeking a part-time Finance Business Partner for a 12 month contract position. The role will be for 17.5 hours per week and the strong preference is for someone that can split the hours over 4 or 5 days.
The role will involve complex budgeting, commentary and variance analysis for multiple cost centres, and will also involve some transactional work around direct debit processing.
The role will involve:
-Liaise with the managers and directors of six income centres, to understand nature of variances from budget/forecast and corrective action in hand. Challenge where appropriate.
-Support the production of robust budgets, half year forecasts and most likely outcomes (produced in month 10) for assigned income centres
-Produce monthly commentaries and ad-hoc commentaries for financial reports reviewed by management and Institute committees
-Ensure that the chart of accounts for each income centre is aligned to the needs of the accountable director
-Manage and operate the monthly direct debit process.
-Undertake user testing of the Protech Pro8 invoicing and sales ledger module as directed
-Assist with the production of the quarterly VAT return and in particular in the identification of partially disallowed inputs
-Produce analyses for the Corporation Tax calculation, splitting income and revenue between mutual and non-mutual trading as appropriate
Candidate requirements:
-Fully or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
-Prior experience in a management accountant or business partnering role in a comparable organisation with multiple cost centres
-A systematic and robust approach to the monthly budget phasing and variance analysis.
-An understanding of partial exemption and charity VAT is desirable
-Exposure to processing direct debits desirable but not essential
-Sage 200 experience desirable but not essential
