A small, historic Animal Welfare Charity with a presence in the UK and Greece is seeking a talented Finance & Administration Officer for a role in their central London office. The role will involve highly varied bookkeeping and financial administration tasks, and represents a great opportunity to join the charity at an exciting time of growth. Duties:
-Coordinating and managing the charity’s financial systems and implementing financial controls
-Support relationships with external authorities and bodies including the Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC and auditors
-Day-to-day bookkeeping
-Preparation of management and statutory accounts in conjunction with external Accountant
-Generating financial reports for project expenditure, budgeting and operations
-Ensuring compliance with donor / grant requirements
-Data input to the charity’s fundraising database
-Ad-hoc admin, legal and fundraising support when required
Requirements for the role:
-Prior experience in a sole charge bookkeeping / financial management capacity in a small organisation
-Varied finance background desired, covering financial processing and admin and preparation of accounts
-Candidates should be well-organised, professional and capable of working autonomously
-A part-or fully-qualified accounting qualification preferred (AAT, CIMA, ACCA etc)
-A passion for the not for profit sector, ideally animal welfare
-Strong understanding of databases / CRM systems – Access or Raiser’s Edge experience useful
-Exposure to Sage or a similar accounting package
