A well-known international NGO based in central London is seeking an experienced accountant with experience of managing the finances of a European Commission (EC) funded project. The role will involve working closely on the charity’s International Tax Justice Campaign Project.
The charity is a value driven, forward thinking organisation, focused on achieving long-term and sustainable change in the lives of the poorest people in our world. One of their current priority campaigns is for tax justice, which is where your skills come are needed.
You will be part of a team of 8 managing an exciting project made up of 24 partner organisations funded by the European Commission to raise international awareness and support for combatting corporate tax avoidance and evasion amongst European citizens and activists in the global South as well as promote progressive and equitable tax reform in Europe and globally.
As Finance Advisor you will ensure the financial integrity of the Project and take responsibility for all aspects of its financial management. This will involve making sure the Project adheres to the EC’s financial requirements, providing technical support to Partners, preparing regular consolidated financial reports, coordinating annual audits and collaborating with stakeholders to provide analysis of risk and spending activities.
Important will be your ability to ensure Partners understand the Project’s financial requirements and have systems in place to meet them.
You must have a professional accounting or financial management qualification coupled with experience in managing finances of a multi-million, multi-stakeholder European Commission funded project. You will have developed financial operational systems and schedules for large, multi-country, multi-partner projects and be comfortable preparing plans and budgets as well as financial analysis and reporting.
Expert at simplifying complex financial information you will have an in-depth understanding of the finance elements of donor contract management.
In addition to your technical abilities you must have strong communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
