A public research university are currently recruiting for an Examinations Manager for three months with the potential of being a six months role. The Examinations and Graduation teams sit within the Registry Services and form part of the university's Academic Registry. You will also manage two Exam Officers with this role.

Registry Services is responsible for the central administrative functions of Registration, Academic Timetabling, Examinations, and Graduation.

The university is rolling out a new online exam system so students can do their exams online, especially with January exams. You will be trained on this new system and provide training to the wider team. This will be a great chance to add this new exam system to your experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the integration of the exam timetabling system with other data systems.
  • Manage the operation of the university's Examinations, covering all exam periods throughout the academic year.
  • Plan, develop and review examinations operating procedures as part of an annual exercise to inform and support continuous improvement.
  • Manage the collection of data from departments for exams-related activities, ensuring accurate configuration for exams scheduling (software currently being reviewed).
  • Manage any requests for changes to the exams timetable in line with the Exams Timetabling Policy.
  • Manage the operational provision of exams for access arrangements for students with specific learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Manage the provision of online and/or on-campus examinations and contribute to developments in this area as well as building on best practice.

You will have:

  • Previous experience and knowledge of examinations activities (and graduation) in Higher Education.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the development implementation and operation of policies and processes in Higher Education
  • Experience with student record systems, ideally SITS student record system.
  • Previous experience of providing training and excellent senior stakeholder management.
  • Previous managerial experience within Higher Education.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience using technology.
  • The ability to provide a high level of service and support to students and staff.

The location of the university is in the East of England and commutable from London. Ideally the university would want you to be on campus for two - three days a week.
