Events Officer - Temporary
Our client a leading health membership body are seeking an experienced Events officer to join the busy events team, and take responsibility to support the work of the College by assisting in the organisation of the Annual Conference and trade exhibition, and to deliver wide-ranging programme of events.
The Events Officer will work closely with the Events and Business Development Manager, Senior Events Officer and divisions within the organisation.
Manage the delivery of the programme, through the decisions taken by the Annual Conference Committee who is responsible for the scientific programme. Support the delivery of the conference logistics, social events, exhibition arena and sponsorship activities.
Events and Courses
With the support of the Senior Events Officer, taking full ownership of the logistics and event management for a number of events and courses
General Event Administration
The post holder will be expected to attend the Annual Conference (held regionally) which will require an overnight stay of a minimum of 4 nights, and overnight stays for regional events.
Demonstrates a real belief in customer service, focusing on what matters to the customer and will best serve their interests.
- 2 years conference/events management experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Explorer, Outlook and PowerPoint
- The ability to plan activities thoroughly for self and others. Build milestones into plans, monitor progress and adjust them as necessary in response to any changes
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written including excellent report writing skills and the ability to present information in a fluent and persuasive manner to people at a range of levels
