A leading arts HE organisation are recruiting for a Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Manager to lead the commercial function within the organisation during a maternity cover.
The aim of the role will be to continue to grow a stream of commercial ventures such as short courses, CPD and business initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
? Getting a new training initiative to market: building our client base, generating income, developing the training workshop portfolio with relevant academic staff. (Training packages are aimed at businesses and professionals ? designed to tackle issues in today?s workplace).
? Growing the Short Courses portfolio beyond a successful summer schools programme ? including; developing professional CPD (continued professional development) packages, building an international short course profile.
? Establishing a robust business model for the creative industries business incubator programme.
? Developing engagement with the corporate sector across a range of programmes
? To be responsible for achieving income and net contribution as per the annual budget, and for producing a business plan, identifying and managing income streams from entrepreneurship and enterprise activities
? To develop strategic partnerships and activities with external organisations that will benefit the organisation economically, artistically, educationally and socially. To work with external networking organisations such as The Culture Capital Exchange, and technology savvy networks, to develop new opportunities.
? To identify and support entrepreneurial initiatives from students, staff and recent alumni in the School, assisting in developing appropriate project and business plans and relevant partnerships, ensuring successful implementation
? To encourage an innovative and entrepreneurial culture within the School and across the City of London?s Cultural Hub
Essential criteria for the role includes:
? Entrepreneurial approach and a self-starter
? Comfortable developing new streams of work such as corporate training and CPD
? Team player and high emotional intelligence ? able to engage and bring colleagues along with them. This is not only about leading the Enterprise team, but also getting academic and support departments on board, and ensuring the continued support of senior management.
? Keen understanding of the HE (particularly Arts) and commercial world ? and the entrepreneurial opportunities within/ across them.
? Highly commercial with strong business acumen
? Proven experience of entrepreneurship and enterprise development in an arts or arts related context
? Experience of working in Higher Education
