Due to an internal promotion, an opportunity for an Engagement Officer has come available in a unique health related charity that offers support and training.

As Engagement Officer, you will deliver a targeted sector based annual plan via recruitment events and activities throughout the UK working with patients and their families; volunteers; community groups; companies and other organisations. You will be key in increasing the number of blood donors and improving the quality of their journey through the process by managing donor recruitment drives (on and offline) and patient appeals. You will be training volunteers and the event organising panel and give advice about how they can effectively manage donor recruitment events.

As well as being responsible for high quality relationship management with a variety of stakeholders, some being particularly vulnerable, the Engagement Officer is also assisting on regular reporting and record keeping. Working with Comms and Social media teams to develop campaign plans plus general social media presence. You will also be on hand to facilitate monetary donations during the registration process and be prepared to deliver presentations to various audiences.

Skills and experience you will have:

*It is not expected that the successful candidate will necessarily have experience / competency in all the areas highlighted below. Support and training will be provided.

* Experience of project managing community events.
* Previous experience of working with diverse cultural groups, communities and nationalities.
* Desirable, but not essential: Previous experience of working with the media.
* Sensitivity and empathy in working with people.
* Ability to form effective internal and external relationships.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills.

This is full-time position offering a flexible hybrid working pattern, with 2/3 days of your choice in the office. The office is based in West London.
