An inspirational education charity which uses Anne Frank's life and diary to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination are recruiting for an Education Project Officer to be part of their expanding team in the North East of England on a permanent, term time only (plus 2weeks) basis.
You will work with partner schools, local authorities, criminal justice educational services and many others, to deliver education to young people in a variety of settings, predominately in schools. The interactive and impactful programme which you will be responsible for delivering includes an exhibition of Anne Frank's life and diary, combined with workshops, peer education and an ambassador programme.
Coming from a secondary school teaching or delivery background, or having extensive experience working with teenagers in similar youth settings, you will be delivering to predominantly 11-18year olds in group sessions of up to 30 students at a time.
The complexity and sensitivity of the subject matter requires a skilled, sensitive and quick thinking communicator, as it covers the history of Anne Frank and the Holocaust as well as contemporary issues including prejudice, identity, extremism, equality and diversity.
This is an exciting and varied role, as you will travel across the North East (predominantly the Newcastle and Tyneside regions) but also require some home working in terms of assisting the regional manager with the administrative aspects of the role as well as assisting with the initial relationship development with partners.
If you are a confident facilitator, have access to your own vehicle and have an interest in history and preventing prejudice and discrimination then send your CV, along with a covering letter demonstrating why the role is of interest and how you meet the criteria, to the Education Team quoting reference number J65498KP, or call us for more information.
