A specialist higher education provider, are looking to appoint a research-active Counselling Psychologist with experience of managing academic post-graduate programmes for a Director of Studies role, paying £52,000 per annum.
The organisation is going through an exciting time in their history as they look to gain their own degree awarding powers. This post allows for some home-based working.
The Director of Studies will be responsible for academic leadership in teaching, managing and developing the DCPsych Programme. This will include managing the day to day operations, including timetabling, candidate communications, liaison with external agencies/ professional bodies, monitoring of student numbers, chairing programme and studies and assessment boards. Managing curriculum review and design, and providing managerial support and development to programme tutors and administrative support staff.
The successful applicant will hold a doctoral-level qualification in Counselling Psychology, will be an experienced therapist and have a commitment to practitioner research. The post will require a track record of managing a high-achieving team of staff and candidates, and will include responsibility for overseeing the complete candidate experience of this highly-regarded integrative programme from recruitment, teaching, assessment and supervision through to research and graduation, and will be committed to support the management and strategic planning processes of the Faculty and the Institute.
