Young Epilepsy is the leading charity helping young people with epilepsy and associated conditions in the UK. Founded in the 19th century, Young Epilepsy has a strong tradition of developing ground breaking clinical and educational services for young people affected by epilepsy and associated conditions. From the stunning 65-acre campus in Lingfield, Surrey, Young Epilepsy directly educates and cares for over 200 children and young people. However, the reach of the charity extends across the UK through work to deliver support and information to families and those with an interest in epilepsy and associated conditions.

With a new state of the art school having opened in June 2016, and with the Young Epilepsy being in the final stages of developing a new five-year strategy, this is an exciting time to join the team. As Director of Fundraising and Engagement, your primary focus will be to lead the fundraising and communications teams and to oversee the implementation of the new strategy, which will aim to inspire and motivate more people to connect and contribute to the work of Young Epilepsy. You will oversee the delivery of the charity's existing fundraising plans and generate new funding opportunities through networking and developing partnerships – there will be a particular focus on growing unrestricted income. You will also work to ensure that the Young Epilepsy brand is developed, and that communications are clearly linked to the charity's strategy and objectives.

You will have a track record of leading a similar function within a not-for-profit organisation, and of raising significant levels of fundraised income from a diverse range of income streams. You will have experience of managing and motivating teams and be confident working at Board level with Trustees and Directors. You will be comfortable leading change and encouraging new ways of working.
