Do you want to be a part of a life changing, pioneering charity?

About the charity

Safer London is an award-winning charity with the vision for young people in London to feel safe and achieve their potential. Safer London delivers a number of services that improve the safety and wellbeing of young people in London affected by violence and crime.  It’s an exciting time to join Safer London – demand for the charity’s high quality, innovative programmes are high, there is an excellent and highly motivated staff team in place, and there are real opportunities for the charity to continue to extend its reach.

About the role

Joining the Senior Management team as Director of Business Development, you will manage a small team of staff, and have responsibility for developing the fundraising strategy, the delivery plan, and ultimately deliver against the public sector, trusts and foundations fundraising targets. You will work closely with SMT colleagues to identify potential bidding opportunities, develop partnerships to support these bids, agree which projects best fit the criteria, and then lead on the writing and submission of bids. You will lead on the development and implementation of the funder stewardship plan, support the CEO with relationships with Major Donors, and lead on work to develop corporate fundraising within the organisation.

About you

In order to be considered for this fantastic opportunity you will need to demonstrate a strong track record of working strategically within an organisation, be able to evidence work to build effective partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders, and considerable success in generating income from the public sector, trusts and foundations. You will be a confident line manager and have a strong understanding of the voluntary and community sector funding landscape.
