We are proud to be recruiting for a vocational awarding body and AVA. We are looking to recruit a dynamic and self-motivated Director of Access and Compliance to take primary responsibility to ensure regulatory compliance across all areas of operations, this will include leading a skilled team and providing a cost-efficient quality assured service.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) you will lead a small direct team, as well as have oversight over an extended and diverse group of peripatetic staff to ensure that all systems, processes and procedures are effective and comply with regulatory requirements.

As someone who has strong demonstrable leadership skills, you will also contribute to strategic planning, business planning and effective management of change as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), including playing an direct impact on implementing a new organisational 3year strategic plan.

To take on this role you will have a current understanding of regulatory changes including the new Ofqual CASS strategy in order to review and drive these changes forward for the organisation, including all internal and external training and development in this area.

You will also be a skilled quality and compliance professional to ensure effective day to day operations, such as knowledge of awarding organisation and regulatory structures, experience of managing licence applications and/ or review and audit for QAA and Ofqual and managing quality assurance improvement processes and procedures.

If you are someone who has a track record in devising innovative changes to systems and processes to improve efficiencies, adapt to new ways of working and improving outcomes and standards then this is the role for you. You will be encouraged and supported to look at new ways of working and move existing process where possible into a more digital format, asking challenging questions and gathering intelligence to make informed decisions and discover new leads which will benefit the organisation as a whole.

This role will require you to travel frequently across the organisation's area of operation and nationally, plus be willing to work extended hours to ensure regulatory deadlines when required.
