About the opportunity
We have a community activity open to all on Wednesday afternoons - Creative Wednesday. We offer craft sessions, sewing and beginners' art. We are looking for volunteers who could lead one of those activities or something else creative. Do you have any other craft or creative skill that you would like to share with others?
We are also looking for volunteers to support women-only craft sessions, on Monday mornings.
About The Springfield Project
The Springfield Project is a Birmingham-based charity with a passion for our local community. We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space in which people from diverse backgrounds can meet and receive support.
The Project developed from St Christopher's Church's commitment to supporting families in the local area and sharing God's love in our community.
We work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to deliver children's centre services providing activities and support for families with children under 5.
We run the Neighbour Scheme, a social prescription project between local GPs and the Springfield Project, working to reduce isolation and improve the mental wellbeing of local adults.
What are they looking for?
Creative skills are important to this role. Patience, listening skills and ability to encourage others are also important.
Ability, confidence and willingness to help design activities and/or coordinate a programme would be really useful, but this is not an essential part of the role.
Practical Considerations
We run a number of sessions including Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon at the Springfield Centre B13.
Reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed.
