TPP’s client; a pioneering charity offering a range of community support and regeneration work is seeking a Community Connections Programme Manager to cover maternity for 1 year.
Our client was established in the 1980s and they have developed an astounding reputation, nationally and internationally for the community regeneration work they have achieved. They have created a model that works; supporting vulnerable young people, families and adults in the community to develop key skills and confidence. They achieve this by running a huge range of projects across different sites in partnership with other organisations and charities. They work with over 2,000 people each month and each service is tailored to the needs of the whole community. They focus their support projects across three main areas:
• Chronic illness and unhealthy lifestyles
• new skills
• enterprising community
The Community Connections Programme Manager Job is key to the delivery of many of the above mentioned projects which engage people and families. The services are designed to include informal learning, community engagement, knowledge and awareness and empowerment. Many of the projects include; children’s activities, family learning, time bank activities, celebrations, health literacy etc.
The Community Connections Programme Manager will responsible for leading the designated programme area and its activities whilst taking full managerial responsibility for the operational delivery of the programme. Ensuring a high standard of delivery, meeting all targets and outcomes across a range of contracts and ensuring a full integration across the programme. The successful candidate will also be involved in the strategic growth and expansion of the programme ensuring it is in line with the clients’ mission and vision.
To be considered for this role you will need to have a good understanding of east London and its communities and be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will need to have substantial experience of working with communities, have a minimum of 5 years managerial experience including successful management of contract delivery. An understanding of asset based community development is required along with financial and budget management.
