On Saturday 12 May 2018 Alzheimer's Research UK is holding its first national awareness day event, Defeat Dementia Day, and we're holding bucket collections in key locations across the country. Some places have slightly different collection dates - please see details below.

We need teams of dedicated and enthusiastic collection crew volunteers around the country who will raise vital funds to support dementia research.

As the UK's leading dementia charity, we're relentless and we have big ambitions. We power world-class studies that give us the best chance of beating dementia sooner, and our scientists' ground-breaking work focuses on prevention, treatment and cure - but we can't do it without you!

We are flexible about the hours and would be happy to discuss a time slot that suits you. You'll be fully supported by your regional fundraising officer and all reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed - just keep the tickets/receipts.

To volunteer independently you will need to be over 18.

In the UK more than 850,000 people are living with dementia and there are currently no treatments to stop or slow the diseases that cause dementia.

If you can help power life-changing dementia research on any of these Saturdays in May please email us at volunteer@alzheimersresearchuk.org or follow the link below to complete the online registration form:

We're also looking for volunteer Defeat Dementia Day Collection Coordinators to support and lead on each collection location. If you're interested in this opportunity, please do let us know and your regional fundraising officer will be in touch to discuss the role with you.

Any help you're able to offer is vital to powering the fightback against dementia and Defeat Dementia Day is set to be a fantastic nationwide day of action!

We forward to hearing from you!
