TPP are recruiting for a Childrens service Manager. This is a new exciting role within the charity.
This charity is working to three strategic aims - building 'Stronger Families', to ensure 'Safer Childhoods', leading to 'Positive Futures'. By focusing on these aims, we will reach out to more vulnerable children and help them improve their life chances.
This role has particular emphasis on business growth and development through the outward focus of sharing expert knowledge, learning, expertise, training, alongside driving internally continuous service improvement by ensuring the highest quality of practice within current services and within pilot/trailblazer models.
Some of the key Activities:
Whilst working within corporate, multi-disciplinary teams
Apply specialist knowledge within themed areas - 'Stronger Families', 'Safer Childhoods' and 'Positive Futures' in order to tender applications and bids in conjunction with the Business Development Unit
Ensure feedback is sought on successful/unsuccessful proposals related to own specialist area, discuss with Business Development colleagues to improve future strategy.
Using specialist knowledge and expertise Lead on changes to culture, approach, systems and processes within new service modelling, ensuring the London Futures ways of working are embedded in new models
Apply specialist knowledge within themed areas - 'Stronger Families', 'Safer Childhoods' and 'Positive Futures' in order drive high quality service delivery in conjunction with the lead Themed ADCS
Capture and maintain knowledge and understanding of current market developments, legal framework and policy changes and competitor activity within themed area specialism; look for ways to use this knowledge to innovate in service delivery and provide challenge to existing ways of working.
Influence decision making process by providing specialist knowledge on areas such as resource; professional skills; models of work within themed area internally and externally
Line manage, supervise and develop staff members, conducting staff supervisions, appraisals and other meetings as required.
Represent the charity at internal and external meetings/events, including bid presentations, negotiations and competitive dialogue, conferences, networking events, national and local government functions, etc
Maintain good relationships with existing clients/commissioners and develop relationships with new clients and key stakeholders up to senior management level in order to generate further potential business opportunities and market products and services in themed special area
Educated to Honours degree level or equivalent professional qualification or relevant experience.
Specialist professional knowledge of at least one of the areas of expertise encompassed within the themes 'Stronger Families', 'Safer Childhoods' and 'Positive Futures'.
A clear understanding of child protection statutory systems.
Evidence of personal impact both operationally and strategically
Substantial experience from a Children's Services/social/health care related background.
Previous experience of working within a child protection framework.
Previous work experience within Health (Nurse/s; health Visitors; midwives; PMHW); family support services including SWs and Education (teachers; early years professionals) and other appropriately qualified occupations i.e., psychology services
Experience of preparing, managing and writing tenders, reports and/or funding applications.
Experience of managing projects to agreed contract, budget and timescale from start to completion.
Demonstrable evidence of achieving positive results within a multi-matrix environment
