Emmaus Gloucestershire is seeking a new Chairperson with senior leadership experience who is able to lead the organisation through a period of significant growth and development.
Emmaus Gloucestershire is a successful social enterprise that provides accommodation and meaningful work for 30 formerly homeless people (Companions). Companions work for 40 hours a week in our five retail shops and warehouse, generating the income that sustains the community.
The Chairperson leads the Board of Trustees, line manages the Chief Executive Officer, represents the organisation externally, and plays a role in the life of the community. The average weekly commitment for the Chairperson is 4 - 6 hours. This is an unremunerated post.
We are looking for someone with senior leadership experience, preferably at Board level, with the ability to think strategically, work collaboratively and plan for the long term. We want someone with excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to promoting an environment where everyone feels valued and able to contribute.
The Chairperson will join us at an exciting stage of our organisation's development. We have just completed a strategic planning process which outlines our plan for the next four years, where we are aiming to develop new partnerships and services and have a bigger voice in Gloucestershire.
