An incredible opportunity has arisen at leading end of life care provider to lead their brand new state of the art education and training centre which is due to open in Autumn 2020.
As the Centre Lead, you will oversee a team compromised of a mix of educationalists, experts by experience, associates and other staff and volunteers who have an ambition to deliver an ambitious and creative programme of learning.
This role will manage an already successful programme which last year provided education and training to at least 2,124 individuals from 45 countries, engaged in a number of large multi-centre
research studies and contributed to publications spanning new books, book chapters, peer reviewed articles and a variety of presentations at national and international conferences.
The scope of this role is unlimited, with opportunities existing also to recruit to new posts; extend learning opportunities to more professionals locally, nationally and internationally and also to the public for the first time. Look at using technology alongside more traditional face to face learning and invite curiosity and interest through exhibitions and historical information alongside formal education and training.
And even the current covid pandemic will provide positive advancements in terms of opportunities for learning around death, dying and loss and building on these too, to help people
manage the challenges presented by the virus now and in the long term.
This role will be for someone who sees the value of learning as a means of transforming care and services, and ultimately the experience of those using them.
And although you don't need to be immersed in palliative care, but to be successful you will need to be passionate about end of life issues and be keen to see societal change, alongside the development of services and professionals involved in their delivery.
You will also need to be a strong team player, someone who is innovative and creative and a person up for a challenge, as whilst there are huge opportunities there are some significant unknowns as with any new venture.
The key day to day responsibilities of the Centre Lead will be to shape, lead and develop a broad team of staff and volunteers who deliver learning opportunities via the Centre.
To create and oversee a broad programme of learning opportunities, plus develop strategic partnerships within and beyond the hospice that support the delivery and funding of the programme.
Specific experience you will require for the role includes-
A Masters degree, as well as equivalent experience in the health education sector and ideally a management qualification.
Experience of establishing and developing an new exciting service, or similar
Extensive experience of working in an education/training provider organisation
A thorough understanding of income generation and how to maximise it
Extensive experience in organising/facilitating conferences, masterclasses or similar
Experience of establishing an effective team
Evidence of developing partnerships at local and national level
Knowledge of quality assurance methods relating to the achievement of training outcomes and improvements in clinical practice
