An environmental charity who work to create stronger, healthier communities, responsible business and greater prospects for local people are looking for a Carbon Literacy Coordinator to work on an exciting new employability project across Nottinghamshire County Council.
As the Carbon Literacy Coordinator, you'll deliver digital and environmental sessions to a case load of adult participants who are not in employment and face barriers to learning, with the aim of equipping them with key digital and Carbon Literacy skills to assist them with their long term goal of securing sustainable employment or education. This is a need that has been identified through recent observations and consultations with employers, educators and partners across the employment sector.
You will deliver sessions that focus on Carbon Literacy topics such as Climate Change and social action but may also include employability skills, IT basics, social media and using search engines. Upon completion, your participants will have increased their online employability skills and have greater appreciation of the climate change challenges ahead.
Working in a busy team, you'll ensure high quality sessions are delivered while outcomes and business deadlines are achieved.
To be considered, you'll need to have some experience of working with an unemployed client based delivering advice and guidance, or experience as an educator or trainer with the confidence to deliver sessions to adults. You'll need to have knowledge or a keen interest in climate change/environmental literacy or similar as well as good digital skills, and will be passionate about educating others on these topics.
You will be appointed on a fixed term contract until June 30th 2022 and will be home based, mostly delivering sessions online. There may be a need for some travel throughout the Nottinghamshire area to meet participants face to face.
In turn, the charity will provide you with equipment to work from home, a potential bonus of 20% of the FTE salary for successfully delivering the required outcomes and an excellent opportunity to develop your career in employability and carbon literacy.
