We are working with a nonprofit, who are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team.

As an organisation they work on an initiative to improve the construction industries image. Construction sites and companies can register with their scheme, and are monitored against a Code of Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.

The scheme monitors any area of construction activity that may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry as a whole. The main areas of concern fall into three categories: the general public, the workforce and the environment.

It is an exciting time for the organisation. A new Chief Executive has recently joined, and is implementing some great ideas to move the organisation forward.

The Business Development Manager is a new role, focusing on the North of the UK and Ireland. As an organisation they have been extremely successful in London and South, however there are substantial areas of the UK where they have not yet reached saturation - as well as new sectors to be engaged. Eg. Utilities.

At present the Chief Executive is proactively engaging in new registrations in the North, and you will be supported by her once joining.

As Business Development Manager your main areas of focus will be;

Non-Partners

  • The Business Development Manager will analyse current company databases and pursue companies who are not registering all of their sites.

Client Partners

  • Client partners include local authorities and national retailers. As Business Development Manager you will focus on developing relationships and signing up new Client Partners - focusing on public sector organisations such as educational institutions etc.

Regional Reach

  • Analysis has indicated that the organisation has registered 60% of eligible sites nationally, with the proportion in London and South East. As Business Development Manager you will pursue better regional reach.

There ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Development Manager who has experience of selling to Local Authorities as well as some retailers.

This will be a home-based role, and can be based anywhere in the North, ideally Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle etc. The role will pay up to £40,000 and will have a yearly incentive bonus. You must have access to your own car - millage will be reimbursed.
