This national charity are the third largest charity in the country - they are recruiting a customer focused "Data Checker" to be field-based and engage with the boating communities.
This role is very unique, as you will be 100% outdoors, sometimes on foot or sometimes on a push bike.
Its ideal for anyone who is physically fit and robust enough to patrol the canal tow paths whatever the weather.
You will be expected to work with minimum supervision and although you will be part of larger team, you will largely be working on your own.
So if you enjoy the beautiful English and Welsh countryside and excited by the idea of embracing the great outdoors, then this is for you!
Your main duties will be to patrol the canals and river ways in the surrounding area of Gloucester to ensure that boaters have the correct license required.
You will engage with the boating communities in a friendly and professional manner in-line with the wider charity's sensibilities and polices.
Although you will meet at the Gloucester site, Your patch will be stretch the following area...
South Wales & Severn:
- Gloucester & Sharpness Canal
- Worcestershire & Birmingham Canal
- Monmouth & Brecon Canal
- River Severn
- Droitwich Canal
It is essential you have a car to get to you the Gloucester site, where a commercial vehicle will pick you up and take you to any of the above locations for that days work, you will then be picked up at the end of the day and driven back to your car at Gloucester.
It is essential that you have experience directly working with the public.
It is also essential that you will be happy to work in all weather conditions, boots, clothing, waterproofs, hat and gloves will be provided.
Please note this is fixed term contract until 31st March 2017.
