Boccia England is the National Governing Body and charity for the sport of boccia in England. Boccia is a Paralympic sport that was originally designed for people with cerebral palsy but is now enjoyed by participants with any physical or learning disability. The vision is that through the power and inspiration of boccia, real change to people's lives can be achieved.
We are currently looking for a Board Director (independent or member) to make a positive contribution to the development of our sport and bring new ideas and insight to our Board.
The Boccia England Board is responsible for leading the organisation, ensuring that all activities remain true to our vision and values. Board develops our strategy and ensures the highest level of governance and conduct for the organisation.
The Board meets formally on a quarterly basis, with a mixture of virtual and face to face meetings.
As Director you will be expected to:
- show commitment and act as an Ambassador for the organisation by attending meetings and ad hoc Boccia England competitions,
- provide insight and guidance on how Boccia England can deliver its strategic aims, ensuring an excellent experience for all those involved.,
We are particularly keen to hear from people who have any of the following knowledge/ experience:
- Sporting knowledge/ experience (ideally boccia)
- Legal & Governance or
- Communications/ Marketing
