Asst Director of Finance & Support Services- Sunderland Charity

A prominent and multi-faceted community charity based in Sunderland, north-east England is seeking an experienced Director level finance professional for an exciting new role.

The charity is at the forefront of community engagement and development in the north-east and delivers a range of award-winning programmes focused on impacting health, behaviours, attitude and skills of young and older people in the region. The charity is award-winning and has a genuine impact in the area.

The role reports directly into the Chief Executive, and the successful applicant will lead a team of 5. The role will involve overseeing the organisation's complex finances, including financial strategy and statutory accounts, as well as overseeing other areas of corporate resources such as HR, Quality & Safeguarding.

The charity consists of multiple entities - a main charity, a property asset, a trading subsidiary along with relationships with other local enterprises and schools.

Applicants must be a fully-qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) and should have a demonstrable track-record of leading a finance team in a similarly complex organisation. Charity experience is strongly desirable and a thorough understanding of corporation tax, VAT and business modelling is essential for this role.

This role would suit a naturally driven, passionate and outward-looking person with a natural affinity with the charity sector.

Interviews are likely to take place very early in 2018.

Salary circa £50,000 (negotiable for a strong candidate)
