A well regarded national Children’s Charity headquartered in central London is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to play a lead role in the financial leadership of the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, strategy and controls for a complex, multi-entity organisation. Applicants will have a passion for the sector, and detailed understanding of consolidated group accounting in a charity setting.
Duties will include:
-Developing and producing high quality and timely financial and performance management information tailored to the needs of audiences that include trustees, senior managers, budget holders and funders
-Managing the financial planning process including multi-year budgets and forecasts
-Managing and motivating the finance team
-Ensure robust financial controls throughout the charity and it’s multiple entities
-Prepare annual audit and charity SORP accounts
-Produce timely management information and reports for CFO
-Leading on strategic risk planning and financial modelling
-Fully-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
-Line management experience
-Experience managing a multi-cost centre budgeting and forecasting process
-Deep understanding of charity accounting including restricted funds
-Experience in preparing group financial accounts under charity SORP
-Exposure to tendering and bidding in the funding process
-Project Management and charity VAT experience strongly desirable
-Excellent financial systems knowledge
