Salary in the range of £19,800 - £23,400 per annum for 21 hours per week (£33,000- £39,000 pro rata) for a non-chartered accountant, or £21,000 - £25,200 per annum for 21 hours per week (£35-000 - £42,000 pro rata) for a chartered accountant.

Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant seeking a role with a grant-making charity? Do you share their vision for social justice and supporting the younger generation to reach their full potential? If the answer is yes you may be interested to know TPP are working with a well-known charity in London seeking to appoint a part time Assistant Accountant to help undertake their investment accounting, working closely with the finance team. The charity is open to considering flexible working arrangements to meet the role requirement of 21 hours per week. Alongside this, they offer 10% employer pension contribution and, following probation, they offer generous life and income protection insurance and the opportunity to join a private medical insurance scheme, as well as flexible working.

Job requirements:

  • Maintain accounting records for diverse investment portfolio, comprised of around 90 funds, currently worth near to £1 billion
  • Update Excel spreadsheets and reconcile ledger valuations to fund statements maintaining accuracy, liaise with external advisers where necessary
  • Prepare reports for Investment Director and Investment Committee
  • Prepare bank transfers to new and existing funds and monitor the security of transactions
  • Maintain a record of outstanding investment commitments
  • Calculate and post investment management fees and support preparation of the investment management fees budget
  • Work with Investment Administrator to maintain records of investment fund valuation statements ensuring all files are accurate and updated efficiently
  • Provide support to the Finance team as needed

To be considered for this post you must either be a part or fully qualified CCAB accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA or ACMA) or equivalent or working towards. As the Assistant Accountant you will have skills to maintain complex accounting records, undertake reconciliations, and produce accurate reports to tight deadlines.
