Short description of role:
Our client, a homeless charity are seeking an Administration and Advice Worker on a temporary ongoing basis, our client is a contact and Assessment Centre for rough sleepers, they are referred to the project by the organisations Outreach Service, the Administration and Advice Worker will be managing Housing Benefit claims, making sure financial systems are up to date and manage the database, the role involves providing benefits advice to clients and minute taking. You must have experience of maximising housing benefit income using Excel, have an interest in delivering support services to the clients, ideally have a knowledge of homelessness and understanding of the varied needs of those at risk of homelessness. You must hold a valid Enhanced DBS or have a new one completed prior to the start date.
- Complete Housing Benefit Claim forms for all clients that are staying at the centre
- Manage the claims
- Sending letters and emails to support the clients and maintain rental income for the project
- Update database system
- Providing advice and support on benefit claims
- Taking minutes
- Participate in meetings internally and externally
- Maintain accurate records
