As a recognised name within the healthcare sector, TPP Health & Social Care has recruited for NHS and private medical receptionists, on both a temporary and permanent basis.
As a Medical Receptionist, you are the first point of contact for patients and healthcare staff, either on the telephone or in person. Duties as a Medical Receptionist include booking appointments via the medical database, answering calls, transferring calls to relevant colleagues or departments, taking accurate messages, keeping the waiting room tidy and general administration as required.
Knowledge of medical databases would be a distinct advantage to gaining a job within the NHS; the most widely used are EMIS Web, SystmOne, Vision and PAS. Private medical organisations tend to have their own in house systems which can be learnt. Medical Receptionists need to be well presented, articulate, professional and be able to work quickly and accurately in a sometimes fast paced environment.
