With an excellent track record, TPP Health & Social Care is experienced at placing professional and knowledgeable Medical Secretaries and PAs into various healthcare organisations.
A Medical Secretary or PA supports the Senior Clinical Staff directly, providing them with the assistance they require on a daily basis.
Medical Secretaries are usually responsible for audio typing correspondence, dealing with patient queries, fielding calls for the Clinician, dealing with post and within a private setting may include taking payments and dealing with invoicing. Medical PA duties may differ slightly and be more involved in diary management, the consultant/doctor's outside interests, scheduling meetings and travel arrangements.
Medical Secretaries and Medical PAs need to have fast accurate audio and copy typing, strong knowledge of medical terminology over a range of disciplines and experience of working within a healthcare organisation. An organised, professional and empathetic nature would be required along with an adaptable approach to the work. Most gain their knowledge through working in the healthcare sector but can also gain qualifications through AMSPAR.
