Welcome to 2020

Posted on 14/01/2020 by Jo Hodge

We hope 2020 is a good year for your organisation and your own personal career goals.

We ended 2019 by raising over £3,100 for Macmillan Cancer Support and King’s College Hospital Charity, through our Office Olympics themed fundraising on Giving Tuesday. You can read more about our fundraising on Giving Tuesday’s case study.

Despite the current economic outlook over the last 12 months, we have again had another busy year supporting organisations in recruiting talent. We placed over 1900 temporary workers into temporary bookings and supported another 604 job seekers in placing them in permanent roles within non-profit organisations.

Our giving back scheme, that offers many free additional services to non-profit organisations, continues to remain popular. Over 260 volunteer roles were advertised on our website and specialist job boards for free during 2019 and our boardroom and meetings rooms were booked out for a total of 216 days throughout the year, saving organisations £64,000 in potential venue hire costs. Our boardroom can be hired by non-profit organisations free of charge and is booked out months in advance, so if your team are looking for an away day or Trustee meeting space then ensure you book early.

All TPP staff are given 5 days paid leave to volunteer at a charity of their choice. Volunteering in 2019 included;

  • Penny, Chenda and Hannah called marathon runners at Tommy’s
  • Penny and Natasha volunteered at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary
  • Kristina and Diane volunteered for the Red Box Project
  • Brigitte regularly volunteers for GoodGym and MagicMe
  • Donna, Danielle and Shelley volunteered at the Breast Cancer Campaign
  • Sophie volunteered with Surfers Against Sewage

Brigitte Stundner was given the opportunity to volunteer for Helping Hands Cambodia, after pitching to a Dragons Den style panel, winning an extra 5 days paid leave to volunteer abroad and £2,000 towards their chosen internal project and/or travel and accommodation. You can read about their experience here.

Our Non-Profit Salary, Rewards & Retention Survey, covering finance, fundraising, HR, marcomms, digital and specialist support, had a record number of downloads in its launch week in November. Download the report for an overview of remuneration and benefits within non-profit organisations for benchmarking purposes.

We have lots planned for 2020, including our popular quiz nights (with a £1,000 prize for the winning charity,) more specialist forums (such as data, prospects, finance) and we are looking forward to seeing many of you at our first HR breakfast seminar of the year on the 5th March. Ruth from Champs will be discussing how you can create a thriving culture of positive wellbeing and mental wealth, this event will sell out, so book your free place asap.
