Responsibilities & Duties for Financial Controller Roles
The Financial Controller’s job typically involves reporting in to the Director of Finance and responsibility for the full finance function, including managing and supervising staff on a daily basis. You will usually oversee both the financial and management accounting functions and can become involved with project accounting and strategic input. This role is typically hands-on and provides direction to the strategic aspects of the finances, including budgeting and forecasting.
Skills Required for Financial Controller Jobs
A strong mix of staff management and accounting skills will be required. Duties can include: production of statutory and management accounts, reporting and presenting to the SMT, KPI identification, reviewing and improving systems. Typically you will need to be fully qualified although some organisations will consider those who are QBE. Career progression would typically result in becoming the Head or Director of Finance.
